Club Activities
Camp Sertoma
Camp Sertoma, founded in 1969, currently hosts 40 children a week for 6 weeks totaling 240 campers throughout the summer. The camp is located at the 17,000 acre Outdoor Lab on the Clemson University Campus (that's 26.5625 square miles!). The camp focuses on providing an amazing opportunity for children ages 7-13 years old with hearing impairment, speech impediments, or from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Anderson Sertoma Club sponsors 40 children to attend camp this summer with the remaining 200 children sponsored from the 30 Sertoma clubs located around the State of South Carolina. During the Camp's history, it has hosted over 10,000 children from across the State that has had a meaningful and lasting impact on generations of South Carolinians.
Camp Sertoma is our club's main focus to raise money throughout the year from our activities and fundraising efforts to send children to the camp throughout the summer.

The Annual Marshall Willingham Memorial Golf Tournament
Anderson Sertoma Club's signature event to help raise awareness, support, and funding for sending kids to camp and providing "as you go" funding in the Anderson community for hearing aides and providing resources to families in need. Our annual tournament is held at Cobb's Glenn in the fall.
Serteens
Anderson Sertoma Club partners with Wren High School sponsoring the chapter club on campus. Throughout the year our club engages with the high school group working on events such as the Annual Marshall Willingham Memorial Golf Tournament, ongoing club activities, and finding counselors for Camp Sertoma. Anderson Sertoma Club provides a scholarship to the top Serteen student based on academics, leadership, and club involvement. In 2022, Isabella McCarthy was awarded a $1,500 scholarship for her recognized achievement that she will use while studying political science at Anderson University in the Fall.
Club Committees
The Anderson Sertoma has several active and engaged committees that serve the club including the "Anderson Lights of Hope", membership, Serteen's, community engagement, speaker and guest recruitment, publicity and social media presence, club heritage & history, Camp Sertoma, "As You Go" committee, and various other roles. Partner Scholarship Program
BECOME A PARTNER BECAUSE YOU CARE ABOUT CAMP SERTOMA: A summer residential camp for children ages 7-12 who have speech and hearing challenges or who are in underprivileged situations. Sertoma Clubs from across South Carolina unite to identify deserving children in their local communities and provide funding for them to attend. The camp offers a unique experience that has proven to be life changing for so many of those who have attended. For many children it is truly the best week of their young lives.
PURPOSE of the PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: The Anderson Sertoma Club partners with businesses, individuals, and other groups to fund scholarships for children from our local communities to attend Camp Sertoma. The Program is structured as a five-year partnership to provide predictable scholarships for multiple years to ensure that the children have the opportunity to attend camp with less concern about finding funding each year.
RESPONSIBILITY of the PARTNER: Commit to a five-year total pledge of $3,250 to the Anderson Sertoma Club. Pledges are payable in $650 annual installments by May 1st of each year, prior to the start of camp. Each annual gift of $650 will provide a FULL scholarship for one child from the Greater Anderson community to attend Camp Sertoma for that year. If you are interested in providing a partial scholarship such as $125 or $250 per year, we welcome your support—all gifts make a difference in a child’s life!
RESPONSIBILITY of the ANDERSON SERTOMA CLUB: Either you, personally, or the Anderson Sertoma Club will be responsible for selecting the child who will receive your scholarship. We will facilitate his or her application process. The Partner will be provided with the name of the camper they have sponsored each year and will receive a picture of the sponsored camper and a plaque recognizing this commitment. Partners are also invited to attend Anderson Sertoma Club meetings and socials, including the Camp Sertoma Send-Off Picnic, which provides an opportunity for you to interact with the children who will be attending camp.
